Douala, Cameroon — Est. 2019

Every child deserves to know they are loved.

BCOM brings consistent care, faith, and dignity to 200 orphaned children across seven orphanages in Cameroon — born from a divine encounter halfway around the world.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress."

— James 1:27

Our Founding Story

A Divine Appointment Over Lunch

In 2019, two soldiers sat across from each other in a military dining facility at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait 🇰🇼. They were strangers — but God had been working on both their hearts. One had been praying about supporting orphans. The other, Orel, was from Cameroon, with a trusted friend named Annie still serving there.

That conversation became the foundation of BCOM. What started as heartfelt giving passed along to Annie has grown into a structured ministry now reaching 200 children across seven orphanages — supported every single weekend by a dedicated team on the ground.

A Story of Transformation

Bryan's Journey

Bryan arrived at the orphanage at just five years old. Born with a physical malformation, his village believed his condition would bring a curse. His family abandoned him. He was found days later by someone who refused to leave him behind.

When he entered BCOM's care, he was frightened and aggressive. In his first year, the team chose patience over party — focusing on consistent, unconditional love rather than celebration he wasn't yet ready for.

"His joy reflected not just a birthday celebration, but the healing power of love, acceptance, and belonging."

Today Bryan is eight years old. He smiles often. He seeks connection. Last year, BCOM celebrated his birthday for the very first time — and his excitement was unforgettable.

Black History Month

Telling Our Own Stories. Investing in Our Own Communities.

Black History Month reinforces the importance of amplifying voices doing the work from within. Through BCOM, we seek not only to meet immediate needs but to empower children through education, faith, and character so they become the next generation of community leaders.

African-led solutions matter because local leaders carry the deepest understanding of their own context, culture, and needs. When those leaders are empowered and trusted, the solutions they build are effective and sustainable long after outside help is gone.

"When local leaders and caregivers are empowered, trust is strengthened, accountability is reinforced, and solutions are developed that remain effective and sustainable."

Partnerships & Accountability

Stronger Together

What began as two friends sending funds to a trusted contact in Cameroon has grown into a transparent, accountable ministry structure — made possible in large part through the partnership of Tying Vines.

A friendship forged at Gettysburg College in 1986 led to this connection decades later — a reminder that God weaves relationships across time for His purposes. Tying Vines has streamlined operations, strengthened accountability, and helped carry BCOM's story to a broader community of givers and prayer partners.

These partnerships build systems for long-term growth rather than short-term relief, ensuring every dollar reaches children who need it most.

🌿

Tying Vines Ministry

A tremendous blessing to BCOM — streamlining our operations, amplifying our mission, and connecting us to a broader community of faithful givers and prayer supporters.
